Hearth-baked pizza, BBQ, Mexican, Pasta, Sandwiches, Tropical Cake and "Killer" chocolate chip cookies. Customers keep coming back for more since the portions are generous and the cost is reasonable. And, it's convenient to several bushiban schools (but then again what isn't in Kaohsiung?) Kona's hosts Pizza Specials on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 10:00. ($249). Guaranteed not to be the typical pizza found in Kaohsiung. (BBQ pizza, Mexican, Veggie with Pesto sauce and Grilled chicken with Feta Cheese) Kona's is proud of their barbecues....favorite fare not just in Taiwan, but Hawaii, too. David shares his tips with Around Kaohsiung for an unbeatable barbecue. He uses acacia wood (keavi in Hawaiian) or guava wood for fuel… it's a "secret" from the islands. He's experimenting with Sugar Cane shavings....now that sounds inviting! |
